Susan Orlean’s- Party Cheese Balls
On this episode of Your Mama’s Kitchen, Susan Orlean shares vivid memories of her mama’s kitchen and how her parents used food to connect to their own memories of Hungary — a place they had to flee only to never return. It’s no surprise Susan had such strong powers of recollection. As the author of books like The Orchid Thief and The Library, Susan writes about memory, place, and the poetry of everyday life like no one else.
Susan’s mom was a superb cook and I look forward to road testing her mama’s recipe for the cheese balls she served as a crowd pleasing appetizer. You will want to try them too!!!
Listen, and as always, let us know whatcha think!

Michele’s Kitchen Notes
Nothing better than a quick, family tested, party ready recipe! I can wait to try these while entertaining this summer. I may try adding in some seasonal herbs or even some bacon crumbles or sausage and serve for breakfast or brunch.
